EnsembleData vs TrueScrape
EnsembleData is the closest thing to a structural peer we have: a social-specialist API with a mature catalogue across eight platforms, sold as a monthly subscription with a daily unit allowance. That last word is the whole comparison. Their units reset every night, so you size for your busiest day and pay for that size on the quiet ones; ours are prepaid credits that sit there until you spend them. If your volume is flat and daily, a daily allowance is capacity rather than waste, and nothing on this page should persuade you otherwise. If it arrives in bursts — a campaign sweep, a monthly report — the two shapes diverge sharply.

What EnsembleData does better than us
A TikTok catalogue with a track record, where ours is written and not yet proven
Their TikTok endpoints are established and have a reputation for reliability, and TikTok is what this category is mostly bought for. Ours are written against captured payloads rather than proven against live traffic. A catalogue is a claim and a verified endpoint is a product; on TikTok they have the product and we have the claim, and if TikTok is the whole job that is not a detail.
Official SDKs in the languages people integrate from
They ship client libraries. We ship an HTTP API, an OpenAPI document and an MCP server, and a CLI is not an SDK. On day one that gap costs you the hour it takes to write the client yourself and then the ongoing job of keeping it current. It is the most-cited missing piece in our own competitive research and we have not closed it.
A monthly fee is a number you can put in a budget
Their entry plan is $100 a month for 1,500 units a day. A flat invoice is something a finance team can forecast; a prepaid balance is something you watch and top up at an unpredictable moment. Predictability is a real feature and we do not offer it, because there is no subscription here to make predictable.
Years of operating history we simply do not have
They have been selling this long enough for their catalogue to have survived contact with real usage and real platform changes. We launched recently and have no customers to point at. Longevity is not a feature anyone can build in a sprint, and for a buyer who has been burned by a vendor disappearing it is a reasonable thing to weight heavily.

Choose EnsembleData if
- Your volume is flat and daily, so an allowance that resets each night is capacity rather than waste.
- You want an official SDK in your language rather than writing the HTTP client yourself.
- TikTok is what you are buying, and you want a catalogue with a track record on it.
- A predictable monthly invoice matters more to you than a balance that never expires.
Choose TrueScrape if
- Your usage is bursty — campaign sweeps, monthly reporting — so a nightly reset means paying for your peak day every day.
- You want failed requests, empty results and cache hits to cost nothing.
- You need to know when a creator posts rather than polling them on a cron.
- You want async jobs and batching rather than one synchronous call at a time.
- You work across more platforms than the eight they cover and want one schema over all of them.
Questions people actually ask
- What actually happens to units I do not use?
- They expire that night. Their plans buy a number of units per day and the allowance resets rather than accumulating, which is the one structural difference between the two models. Ours are prepaid credits with no expiry: buy 20,000, use 200 this month, and the other 19,800 are still there next year. For steady daily usage that difference is worth nothing. For bursty usage it is most of the decision, because a daily allowance forces you to size for your busiest day and then pay for that size on every quiet one.
- Are they more expensive?
- Not in a way one number settles, because the units are bought differently. Their entry plan is $100 a month for 1,500 units a day; ours is $25 once for 20,000 credits, at $1.25 per 1,000 falling to $0.80 per 1,000 at $500. A monthly fee is predictable and a prepaid balance is not, so the comparison turns on how many of those daily units you would genuinely use. Work out the shape of your month before comparing rates. Their figures were read from their pricing page on 2026-08-20, and pricing in this category changes often.
- What is the honest case against us here?
- They have been doing this for years, they ship official SDKs, and their TikTok catalogue has a track record while ours is written against captured payloads rather than proven against live traffic. We have no customers to point at. If TikTok is the platform you are buying, and you want a client library and a vendor with history behind it, those are three good reasons to pick them and we would rather say so than have you find out later.
