Instagram profile viewer
Enter an Instagram handle or a profile link to see followers, following, posts, bio and verification, read from the public profile without logging in.
How this works
This reads the public Instagram profile, the part Instagram shows a visitor who is not signed in, and normalises it into a Creator object with the same field names as every other platform we support.
Counts are the figures Instagram publishes on the profile. Where Instagram does not publish one, you get null, shown here as a dash, never as a zero. Posts, reels and stories are not part of this lookup, and nothing behind a login is read.
Instagram sometimes refuses logged-out requests, and it gives the same refusal for a handle that does not exist as for a request it blocked. A failed lookup can take up to a minute to give up, and trying again is the right next step.
Questions
- What can I see on Instagram without an account?
- What Instagram shows a logged-out visitor on a public profile: display name, handle, avatar, bio, follower and following counts, number of posts and whether the account is verified. Private accounts show only that public shell. Posts, stories, followers lists and messages are not read.
- Why did my lookup fail or take a long time?
- Instagram refuses some logged-out requests, and it gives the same refusal for a handle that does not exist as for a request it decided to block. So this tool cannot tell a missing account from a blocked request. A failed lookup can take up to a minute to give up; check the spelling, then try again.
- Are the follower counts exact?
- They are the figures Instagram publishes on the profile at the moment of the fetch. We do not estimate or adjust them, and a result served from cache can be up to a day old.
- Why is a number a dash?
- Because Instagram did not publish it for that account. A missing count is shown as a dash, never as zero, because "not published" and "zero" are different facts.
- Do I need an account or an API key?
- No. The tool runs against our own API with our key. If you want to do this in code, or for many profiles, that is what the API is for: GET /v1/instagram/profile at 1 credit per profile.
