Instagram photo downloader

Paste an Instagram post link, preview the photo, and save the file to your device. It works on public posts, needs no account, and the image comes from Instagram to you, not through us.

Only save photos you made or have permission to use. We do not store or host anything: the file goes from Instagram to your device.

How to save a photo

  1. Copy the link: on Instagram tap Share, then Copy link, or copy the address from your browser.
  2. Paste it in the box above and press Get photo.
  3. Check the preview, then press Download photo to keep the file.

The file comes from Instagram’s servers straight to your device, so it uses your connection, not ours.

How this works

Paste a link to a public Instagram post, one anyone can open without signing in. We look up the address of its photo, and your browser downloads the file from Instagram directly, so it never passes through our server and we keep no copy. You get a preview of the file on your device and a button that saves it, within a limited number of downloads per hour.

Questions

Where does the photo come from?
From Instagram’s own servers, straight to your device. We look up the address and your browser downloads the file. We do not store, host or relay it.
Does it save every slide of a carousel?
Not always. It saves the photos Instagram’s public page gives a logged-out visitor, and on the carousels we checked that was only one slide. The page shows you what it got, and a video slide is skipped.
Why did it say the post has no photo?
A reel or video post has no photo file. The Instagram thumbnail downloader saves a reel’s cover image, and the reel downloader saves the video. A private or deleted post cannot be looked up.
Is it allowed?
Save only photos you made or have permission to use. That a file is public does not make it free to reuse, and posting someone else’s work as your own can infringe their copyright and Instagram’s terms.
Is there a limit?
Yes. Each visitor gets a limited number of downloads per hour, so the tool stays free for everyone. When you reach it, the page says when it resets.
