Terms of service
The agreement between you and us. Short, because most of what protects you here is enforced by the billing pipeline rather than promised in prose.

1Who you are agreeing with
These terms are between you and Omit System, trading as TrueScrape, a sole proprietorship operating from India. Using the API, the website or the free tools means you accept them. If you are agreeing on behalf of a company, you confirm you may bind it.
You must be old enough to enter a contract where you live.
2What the service is
TrueScrape returns publicly accessible data from third-party websites in a consistent shape, over an HTTP API. Requests cost credits. The cost of every endpoint is published in /openapi.json before you call it.
We are not affiliated with, endorsed by, or acting for any platform whose public data we read. Their trademarks are theirs.
3Credits and payment
- Credits are bought in advance and are consumed by successful requests.
- Credits do not expire. There is no subscription, so there is nothing recurring to cancel.
- You are never charged for a failed request, and never charged for an empty result. A cache hit costs nothing. These are enforced in the execution pipeline and covered by tests, not merely stated here.
- Payments are handled by Lemon Squeezy as Merchant of Record, who issue your invoice and handle applicable tax.
- Refunds are covered by the refunds and cancellation policy, which forms part of these terms.
4How you may and may not use it
The acceptable use policy forms part of these terms. In summary: do not use this service to identify, track, profile or harass individuals, do not use it to build biometric or facial-recognition systems, and do not resell the personal data of the people whose public posts appear in a response.
Keep your API key secret. Requests made with your key are your responsibility and are billed to you. Tell us promptly if a key is exposed and we will revoke it.
Do not attempt to circumvent rate limits, credit caps or endpoint restrictions attached to your key.
5Availability, and what we do not promise
We do not guarantee that any particular endpoint will work at any particular time. The data comes from websites we do not control, which change their markup, add anti-bot defences and block traffic without notice. An endpoint that worked yesterday may be blocked today.
What we do commit to instead, and what you can rely on:
- A blocked, failed or empty request costs you nothing.
- Errors say which of the two of us has a problem, and name the fix where there is one.
- Endpoints measured as not working are marked in the reference rather than sold as working.
The service is provided as is. We do not warrant that the data is accurate, complete or fit for a particular purpose — it is a reflection of what a public page said when we read it, and platforms publish inaccurate and incomplete things routinely.
6Your responsibility for what you do with the data
You decide what you collect, why, and what you do with it afterwards. Where the data includes personal information, you are responsible for having a lawful basis for your own use of it, and for meeting the obligations that come with it. We are not your data protection officer and this document is not legal advice about your use case.
7Suspension
We may suspend an account that breaches the acceptable use policy, that is being used to attack the service, or where payment has been reversed. A suspended account is served no data and charged nothing while suspended.
8Liability
To the extent the law allows, our total liability to you for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us in the three months before the claim arose.
We are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, for lost profit or revenue, or for losses arising from a platform blocking, changing or removing the data you were relying on. Nothing here limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited.
9Changes and termination
We may change these terms; the date at the top changes when we do, and material changes are noted in the changelog. Continuing to use the service after a change means accepting it.
You may stop using the service at any time. Unspent credits are handled under the refunds policy.
10Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of India, and disputes are subject to the courts of India. If you are a consumer, this does not remove protections you have under the law where you live.
