OK.ru video downloader
Paste an OK.ru video link, preview it, and get the largest file. It works on public videos in Chrome and Edge, needs no account, and the video comes from OK.ru to you, not through us.
How to save a video
- Copy the link: open the video on OK.ru in Chrome or Edge and copy the address from your browser.
- Paste it in the box above and press Get video.
- Watch the preview, then press Download video. A new tab opens and closes, and your browser saves the file. If the file plays instead, right-click it and save it.
The file comes from OK.ru’s servers straight to your device, so it uses your connection, not ours.
How this works
Paste a link to a public OK.ru video, one anyone can open without signing in. We look up the address of its largest file and give you a preview and a button that opens it, because OK.ru does not let other sites read the file for you, so the video never passes through our server and we keep no copy. OK.ru checks the browser that asks, so this works in Chrome and Edge and not in Firefox or Safari.
Questions
- Why does it only work in Chrome and Edge?
- OK.ru’s file address checks which browser is asking. When we tested, Chrome, Edge and Chrome on Android got the file, and Firefox and Safari got an error from OK.ru. We do not disguise your browser to get round that, so in another browser the page tells you to switch instead.
- Why does the button open a new tab?
- OK.ru does not let other websites read its files, so this page cannot save the file for you the way our other downloaders do. The button goes to the file itself. Your browser then downloads it, or plays it so you can right-click and save it.
- Where does the video come from?
- From OK.ru’s own servers, straight to your device. We look up the file’s address and your browser fetches it. We do not store, host or relay the video.
- Which quality do I get?
- The largest file OK.ru lists for the video. The file’s name is the one OK.ru gives it, so rename it if you want.
- Why was a live video refused?
- A live broadcast may only exist as a stream, not a file, so there may be no single file to save. We have not tested one.
- Is it allowed?
- Download only videos you made or have permission to use. That a video is public does not make it free to reuse, and re-posting someone else’s work can infringe their copyright and OK.ru’s terms.
- Is there a limit?
- Yes. Each visitor gets a limited number of lookups per hour, so the tool stays free for everyone. When you reach it, the page says when it resets.
