Flickr video downloader

Paste a Flickr link, preview the video, and save the file to your device. It works on public posts, needs no account, and the video comes from Flickr to you, not through us.

Only download videos you made or have permission to use. We do not store or host anything: the file goes from Flickr to your device.

How to save a video

  1. Copy the link: open the video on Flickr and copy the address from your browser, or use its flic.kr short link.
  2. Paste it in the box above and press Get video.
  3. Watch the preview, then press Download video to keep the file.

The file comes from Flickr’s servers straight to your device, so it uses your connection, not ours.

How this works

Paste a link to a public Flickr post, one anyone can open without signing in. We look up the address of its video, and your browser downloads the file from Flickr directly, so the video never passes through our server and we keep no copy. You get a preview of the file on your device and a Download video button that saves it, within a limited number of downloads per hour.

Questions

Where does the video come from?
From Flickr’s own servers, straight to your device. We look up the file’s address and your browser downloads it. We do not store, host or relay the video.
Which quality do I get?
The best file Flickr offers for the video, up to 1080p. An older upload may only have a smaller one.
Does it save photos?
No. This tool saves videos, and a photo has no video to save, so the page says that instead of downloading anything.
Why does it say a video has no file?
Flickr answers with no file for some public videos, even though their page loads. We found one of the six we sampled like that. There is nothing to save in that case.
Why did the link stop working?
Flickr’s file addresses are signed and last only minutes. Press the button again and the page looks up a fresh one.
Which links work?
Post links that look like flickr.com/photos/name/50843625323, and flic.kr/p/… short links.
Is it allowed?
Download only videos you made or have permission to use. A public Flickr video keeps its owner’s rights unless they have licensed it otherwise, so check the license before reusing one.
Is there a limit?
Yes. Each visitor gets a limited number of downloads per hour, so the tool stays free for everyone. When you reach it, the page says when it resets.
