TikTok thumbnail downloader

Paste a TikTok video link and save its cover image to your device. It works on public videos, needs no account, and the image comes from TikTok to you, not through us.

Only save thumbnails you made or have permission to use. We do not store or host anything: the file goes from TikTok to your device.

How to save a thumbnail

  1. Copy the link: on TikTok tap Share, then Copy link, or copy the address from your browser.
  2. Paste it in the box above and press Get thumbnail. Short vm.tiktok.com links work too.
  3. Check the preview, then press Download thumbnail to keep the file.

The file comes from TikTok’s servers straight to your device, so it uses your connection, not ours.

How this works

Paste a link to a public TikTok video, one anyone can open without signing in. We look up the address of its cover image, and your browser downloads the file from TikTok directly, so it never passes through our server and we keep no copy. You get a preview and a button that saves it, within a limited number of downloads per hour.

Questions

Where does the thumbnail come from?
From TikTok’s own servers, straight to your device. We look up the address and your browser downloads the file. We do not store, host or relay it.
Why is there no TikTok video downloader here?
TikTok’s video servers do not let a page on another site fetch the file, and we chose not to pull videos through our own server. Cover images are served openly, so this tool can save those.
Do short links like vm.tiktok.com work?
Yes. Paste a vm.tiktok.com, vt.tiktok.com or tiktok.com/t/ link from the Share menu.
Is it allowed?
Save only thumbnails you made or have permission to use. That a file is public does not make it free to reuse, and posting someone else’s work as your own can infringe their copyright and TikTok’s terms.
Is there a limit?
Yes. Each visitor gets a limited number of downloads per hour, so the tool stays free for everyone. When you reach it, the page says when it resets.
