Facebook thumbnail downloader
Paste a Facebook reel or video link and save its cover image to your device. It works on public videos, needs no account, and the image comes from Facebook to you, not through us.
How to save a thumbnail
- Copy the link: on Facebook tap Share, then Copy link, or copy the address from your browser.
- Paste it in the box above and press Get thumbnail. A fb.watch or share link must be opened first, then paste the address it lands on.
- Check the preview, then press Download thumbnail to keep the file.
The file comes from Facebook’s servers straight to your device, so it uses your connection, not ours.
How this works
Paste a link to a public Facebook reel or video, one anyone can open without signing in. We look up the address of its cover image, and your browser downloads the file from Facebook directly, so it never passes through our server and we keep no copy. You get a preview and a button that saves it, within a limited number of downloads per hour.
Questions
- Where does the thumbnail come from?
- From Facebook’s own servers, straight to your device. We look up the address and your browser downloads the file. We do not store, host or relay it.
- Which links work?
- Reel and video links: facebook.com/reel/…, facebook.com/watch?v=… and facebook.com/page/videos/…. Short fb.watch and share links hide the address, so open them in a browser and paste the full link it lands on.
- What size is it?
- The size Facebook’s public page publishes for that video, which varies. We save that file as it is, with no upscaling.
- Is it allowed?
- Save only thumbnails you made or have permission to use. That a file is public does not make it free to reuse, and posting someone else’s work as your own can infringe their copyright and Facebook’s terms.
- Is there a limit?
- Yes. Each visitor gets a limited number of downloads per hour, so the tool stays free for everyone. When you reach it, the page says when it resets.
