The TrueScrape TikTok API exposes 32 public endpoints covering One TikTok ad, Search the TikTok Ads Library and Collection videos. Every call is a GET against public, logged-out pages and returns the same unified schema as every other platform here. Calls cost 1 credit each. A cache hit is free, and a failed or empty response is never charged.

What TikTok exposes

  • A TikTok profile returns followers, following, video count, bio, bio link and verification; counts are the exact figure where TikTok ships one, and `raw.approximateCounts` names any that fell back to the rounded display figure.
  • A private TikTok account returns its public shell with `isPrivate: true` rather than an error. Total likes received (TikTok's "hearts") is `likeCount`; TikTok publishes no lifetime view count, so `viewCount` is null.
  • A TikTok video returns its caption, hashtags, mentions, author, sound, duration and view, like, comment and share counts; photo posts are typed `image` or `carousel` and return every image in `mediaUrls`. When TikTok serves only the embed card, counts and media are null and the request is free.
  • A creator's region is read from TikTok's own `region` field, on the profile or on the creator's recent posts, and is never guessed from language or timezone; an account with none returns an empty result, which is free.
  • The trending feed is the logged-out For You feed, which TikTok personalises even for an anonymous visitor, so two calls a second apart return different videos.

How much does the TikTok API cost?
Calls cost 1 credit each. Every endpoint is cacheable, and a cache hit costs nothing. A failed request and an empty result are both free, on every endpoint.
Does the TikTok API need a login or cookies?
No. Every endpoint reads public, logged-out pages only — no account, no cookies, no session. An API key identifies your own TrueScrape account and nothing else.
Can I fetch many TikTok targets in one request?
Yes. 31 of 32 are batchable: one POST to /v1/jobs/batch takes many targets and returns a job id to poll.
Can I watch TikTok endpoints for changes?
Yes, 20 of 32. A subscription polls on your schedule and fires your webhook only when the content changed; the rest carry x-subscribable: false in the spec.
Is the TikTok ad library search global?
No. TikTok publishes its Commercial Content Library per market, so `region` is required and every result ran in that market. Political and election ads are outside the archive, and reach is published as a band, kept in `raw` because reach is not impressions.
Which language does a TikTok transcript come back in?
The original spoken-language track by default, not whichever track TikTok lists first. Pass `language` for a specific track; if it does not exist, the error lists the tracks that do, rather than substituting another language.
Can I check whether a TikTok creator is live?
Yes. The live endpoint returns the room id, title, cover, current viewers and start time while a creator is streaming. A creator who is not live returns `empty_result`, which costs nothing, so it works as a cheap poll.
Why is a TikTok Shop product price null?
TikTok hides the price digits from logged-out visitors on some products, and then `price.amount` is null. Where it is shown, it is the lowest-priced variant. Catalogues are per market: `region` picks one, and the default is US.
